How do I prove that the airline or pilot was at-fault when there are no surviving witnesses to the crash?

Video Transcription:

Proving who is at fault, whether the airline was at fault or the pilot was at fault, when there are no survivors in an airplane crash case. There are a number of things that we look to in these cases and it can be different for airlines versus smaller planes.

With airlines for example, you’re going to get a black box, you’re going to have a lot of data in that black box that’ll help put together how the crash happened. Of course transmissions between the tower and the pilot are very important. Getting to the airplane itself, getting into it and looking at the wreckage to determine what went wrong is key and for that, of course, you need experts.

In smaller airplane cases it’s much the same but I would say getting to the wreckage is even more important because oftentimes with the smaller planes there is no black box data.
