Safety Concerns: The FDA Issued a Class 2 Device Recall for CoolSculpting Elite System

Coolsculpting is a cosmetic procedure that uses controlled cooling to freeze and eliminate fat cells in specific areas of the body. It is marketed as a targeted fat reduction treatment. Alarmingly, there have been serious questions raised about the safety of CoolSculpting. In 2021, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a Class 2 Device Recall of the CoolSculpting Elite System. The product safety recall was issued after it was determined that an improper error code was causing CoolSculpting to burn patients. The FDA reports that more than 750 CoolSculpting machines have been recalled nationwide due to the software error that caused burns.

We Filed a Lawsuit Against Allergan USA and Zeltiq Aesthetics

Pita Weber Del Prado is representing an injured victim in a lawsuit against companies responsible for CoolSculpting: Allergan USA and Zeltiq Aesthetics. We are representing an injured victim who received CoolSculpting treatment after the company was already aware of the software defect. Our client suffered severe burning as a consequence of the defective machine. If you or your loved one was burned due to a defective CoolSculpting machine,  you should consult with an experienced product liability attorney. You have a right to seek financial compensation for economic and non-economic damages, including:

  • Medical bills;
  • Rehabilitative care;
  • Lost wages;
  • Loss of earning power;
